We hear the term “latest trends” in our day to day lives like the trends in twitter, trending video in Facebook etc. But have we ever thought of the latest trends in the higher education sector?
Interest in Foreign education – Students seek foreign education, dive into a different culture and explore diversities of other nations and seek better opportunities. It’s nice if you ever think of the latest methods of studying and writing examinations.
Competitive exams – Unlike a decade ago, people have started seeking higher education in foreign countries. As a result of which the competitive exams like CAT, GRE, TOEFL, IELTS scores have gained more importance.
An Offline to Online shift – Over the course of time, students have become reluctant to go for a class-room oriented study. They need more exposure as from videos, social media sites, blogs and articles and everything on the internet. In other words, study mode has drifted from offline to online. Students are interested in studying while they work without resigning from their current field of work. Mostly, they just need to advance in their career and not shift from one career to another.
Competency really matters – Students are interested in a competency-based learning rather than attending the complete sessions of the syllabus from the classrooms. This means students can study the course material at their own pace. The exam scores are given more importance rather than the no of classes attended. This is more effective as the students can carry this mode of study while they work too.
Financial aids – With the banks providing loans for higher education, education has reached even the common man of the society.
