The State University of New York at Oswego was founded by Edward Austin Sheldon and was initially a Primary Teacher Training School. It transformed to degree granting Oswego State Teachers College in 1942. 29 new campus buildings were opened in 1960 alone which promoted Arts & Sciences, Business Schools, Communications & Media etc. There are 13 university colleges in SUNY system and Oswego is one.
