I have been promoting online MBA for last 8 years of my career. I have been a regular attendee of all the digital marketing conferences in India and abroad.
Instead of a general digital marketing conference, I was in search for one exclusively in the Higher Education Segment.I wanted to attend a digital marketing conference for Higher Education in India but in vain.
However, The Converge, 2019 was one such kind and was in Atlanta but I made my mind to attend. This was held from 19th to 21st Feb 2019 with an aim to bring together every one related to the online education scenario under one umbrella. Everyone who contributed to the online education segment like the online education vendors, deans, admission managers, enrollment officers, digital marketing managers, online marketing strategists and the data analysts attended the event. We had a chance to meet and discuss the business models, digital marketing strategies, business problems and solutions etc among us. The online education vendors introduced their new online courses which are sought mostly by the new generation. The conference was also beneficial to me as there was a Google analytics Training on the 19th.
I have attended many digital marketing conferences and affiliate summits in New York and Las Vegas. However, these were not primarily in the higher education segment and were not really beneficial to me as I dealt with Higher Education only.
What I learnt from the event
- I was not only the sole participant from India, but also from Asia.I was promoting online MBA in more than 50 countries. The experts from these countries were also present and I could share my knowledge with them and also, they shared theirs. It was like a barter system.
- The first day comprised of Google Analytics and data analysis Training. Several case studies in the Higher Education segment were presented by analytics experts. These provided me with better insights.
- The prediction of future of education segment was fantastic. A forecast on the education industry of 2029 provided me insights on what changes I must inculcate to bring in better results for my clients. The online education has more scope in the next decade.
- Latest trends in the education industry were covered. These include the relevance of video marketing, influencer marketing, content marketing, artificial intelligence, data analysis etc
- The lecture on the CRM by the Salesforce team, who implements the world’s best CRM solutions, was amazing.
- Does the automation have any scope in Higher Education Marketing? Yes, there is. Bringing in automation and artificial intelligence to wherever possible can cut the manpower to 50%.
- The session on how to increase the open and click rate during Email Marketing- was really great.
- How to do ‘digital media buying’ effectively was great and how to choose the right parties during media buying were also good.
- I could enhance my business network through this particular event.
